Is there a designated 'First Aider' on the current shift rota?
Check 3 random staff files: Is their First Aid at Work (FAW) or Emergency First Aid (EFAW) in date?
Can the staff member on duty identify the location of the nearest Defibrillator (AED)?
Do staff know how to access the 'Emergency Grab Folders' for resident evacuations?
Is the First Aid kit easily accessible and the location clearly signposted?
Are all sterile items (bandages/dressings) within their expiry dates?
Is the kit fully stocked (no missing plasters, wipes, or gloves)?
Is there a 'Tamper Seal' or log showing when the kit was last inspected?
If an AED is on-site, is the 'Ready' light flashing green (battery/pads okay)?
If medical oxygen is held, is the cylinder full and the key/mask attached?
Are 'First Aid Room' or treatment areas clean and free from non-related storage?
Is there a dedicated Accident Book (BI 510) available to record staff and visitor injuries?
