Section 1: Waste Segregation & Storage

Are clinical (orange/yellow) and domestic (black) waste streams correctly segregated?

Are waste bins foot-operated and in good working order to prevent hand contact?

Are external waste containers kept locked and stored in a secure, designated area?

Is there a clear separation between general waste and recyclable materials?

Section 2: Sharps & Hazardous Materials

Are sharps containers correctly assembled, labeled, and not filled past the 'Full' line?

Is the aperture of the sharps box closed when not in active use?

Are cytotoxic/cytostatic wastes (purple stream) handled and stored separately where applicable?

Is there a spill kit available and are staff trained in its deployment?

Section 3: Documentation & Compliance

Are Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs) or Consignment Notes kept for the required statutory period?

Is there evidence of a contract with a licensed waste carrier for hazardous disposal?

Do staff demonstrate knowledge of the color-coding system for waste disposal?

Is the external bin store area clean, free from odors, and regularly disinfected?
